The selection process
We find, research and visit the vineyards. We taste the wines and develop long-term relationships with the winemakers. We choose producers who care about quality rather than commercial terms and mass production. Only when all the boxes are ticked do we sign on the dotted line. There is no one else to pay, except for the winemaker. So the cost savings are passed on to you.
As most of our winemakers are small family-run businesses, they usually produce their wines in low production and this may mean that we can’t always get the same wine year in and year out. However, we see this as a positive and Chix & Buck is always on the for quality, new and exciting wines to bring back to the UK.
Our choice wines have attracted a wide customer base. Consequently, there are numerous factors to take into account when deciding which wines to add to our ever-growing list. We have therefore put together a panel of wine tasters to help Chix when she is choosing new wines for the Chix & Buck cellar. The panel represents a range of knowledge from students studying different levels at the Wine & Spirit Education Trust to those that just enjoy their wine and wouldn’t be able to describe the bouquet if their life depended on it!
